The rules it is built by
- Only what was measured. The application and this site claim only what was measured and say “not measured” about the rest. There is no counter of frames or milliseconds won, and when a stutter lines up with an event, w0a says the two fell in the same window, not that one caused the other.
- Every setting can be put back. The Backups page returns the machine to any of w0a's restore points, and the Fix page writes Windows defaults back without needing w0a's records. Deletions are the exception: the Logs and Uninstall Apps pages say so and ask before they start.
- No kernel tweaks. Kernel settings are refused, and so are the multiplane overlay (MPO) and TDR keys of the display driver, which froze CS2 on a real machine.
- Off until you switch it on. On a new installation every engine is off. There is no first-run tour and no button that optimizes the whole PC at once.
How a release is tested
Nothing is published until one gate passes: a release build that treats every warning as an error, a scan of the dependencies for known vulnerabilities, and a test suite that covers the tweak catalogue, the backup allow-list, the banned keys, the honesty rules and the site, together with real requests to the licence server and the site opened in a real browser. If one step fails, nothing is published.
Before a release for customers, a run on a real Windows machine applies each tweak the app offers, one at a time, checks that what the page reports matches what changed on the machine, then undoes it and checks that every value is back exactly as it was.
An independent product
w0a is not affiliated with Valve, NVIDIA, FACEIT or any other game, platform or anti-cheat vendor; their names belong to their owners. Payments are handled by Paddle as merchant of record, so the seller named on your invoice is Paddle.
