WHAT THE TWEAKS DO

What the tweaks do

Every section: what it changes, the registry path, and how to undo it.

Audio tweaks

Raises the scheduling priority of the audio threads, so on a busy machine they are less likely to run late. The buffer, and so the latency, is unchanged.

Silent load tweaks

Work Windows starts on its own and never shows anywhere. None of these lowers a buffer or a timeout Windows provides; each either turns a switch off or raises a restriction.

Display & graphics tweaks

The display-driver timeout back at the Windows default, and the window and taskbar animations turned off. What either does to the frame rate has not been measured.

Mouse & keyboard tweaks

Bigger report queues for the mouse and keyboard drivers, a shorter freeze when an input hook hangs, a shorter key-repeat delay. None of them makes a click arrive sooner.

Memory tweaks

One setting: puts Windows services back into shared svchost processes instead of one process each — fewer processes and less memory, at the cost of crash isolation between them and per-service figures in Task Manager.

Network tweaks

What each box on the Internet page writes, what it leaves alone, and which of them can change a match — most cannot, and the page says so.

Startup & background tweaks

Work that starts by itself after sign-in or in the background while you play, and restarts that land mid-match. Turning fast startup off makes boot slower, not faster.
