w0a SOFTWARE — END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT
Version 1.8 · Effective: 2026-10-09
By installing, running or using this software ("w0a" or the "Software"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to all of the terms below. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.
0. SCOPE AND ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
This text is a summary of the User Agreement published at w0a.app. Where the two differ, the full User Agreement on the site prevails. The full texts are at: https://w0a.app/terms (User Agreement), https://w0a.app/privacy (Privacy Policy), https://w0a.app/refund (Refund Policy). Something not covered here may be covered there; for refunds, the right of withdrawal and the processing of personal data in particular, read the full texts. The information published on w0a.app about what the Software does and what each plan contains forms part of the agreement between us.
1. PURPOSE OF THE SOFTWARE
w0a is a tool that provides settings ("optimisations") intended to improve Windows and gaming performance. It runs with administrator rights and may change the system registry, power plans, the start type of Windows services, network settings, and the configuration files of supported games.
It records the previous value of the registry values it changes from the optimisation and settings pages; those can be reverted from within the app. For power plans, the only thing recorded is which plan was active before the Software switched it, and a revert only makes that plan active again. The cards on the repair ("Fix") page, and the individual values inside a plan, fall outside that log. Everything that falls outside the revert log is listed one by one in 1.3 — do not continue without reading that list. Deletions such as uninstalling programs or clearing logs are permanent; the app warns you separately before those.
1.1 HARDWARE SETTINGS
The Software can also change hardware settings through the interfaces your graphics driver exposes: core and memory clock offsets, power limit, voltage and fan curve. These are not operating-system settings; they are the operating point of the hardware itself. These changes are possible only on cards whose manufacturer exposes the necessary interface; on other cards the page only takes readings and shows the controls as unavailable.
The values that can be applied are bounded by the range the driver permits, and a minimum-speed floor applies to the fan curve. Beyond that, the Software applies no temperature limit to clock, voltage and power values you set by hand: the guard that watches temperature and stops the work runs only during the automatic tuning described in 1.2. When tuning by hand, watching your card's temperature and taking responsibility for the values you apply is yours.
Every piece of hardware is individual: a setting that runs cleanly on one card may cause instability, a display-driver crash, a blue screen or raised temperatures on another. Sustained heat and voltage can shorten hardware life.
Your hardware manufacturer or retailer may treat operation outside factory settings as outside their warranty. That is entirely at their discretion and outside our control.
1.2 AUTOMATIC TUNING (AUTO TUNER)
The Software's automatic tuner chooses values itself rather than asking you for them. In its default mode it does not touch your clock offsets at all: it raises the power limit to its maximum, then walks the power back down to find an undervolt, and confirms its choice with a soak test. The optional overclock modes do the same and additionally step the clocks up until stability breaks, in order to find where that point is.
Either search stresses the card deliberately. A display-driver crash, a blank screen or the system restarting during the search is an expected and normal outcome. Save your open work before running it, and stay at the machine while it runs. The Software returns to your starting values if the search fails, but we cannot guarantee that in every circumstance.
Running the automatic tuner is your decision and means you accept the risks above.
1.3 SCOPE OF THE REVERT SYSTEM
The revert feature covers only the registry changes the Software makes from its optimisation and settings pages, and the switching of the active power plan. The following are NOT covered:
- - Deletions (uninstalling programs, clearing logs and caches) — these are permanent.
- - BIOS/UEFI settings. The Software may read your memory profile (XMP/EXPO) and suggest you enable it, but entering the BIOS and making that change is your action, not the Software's. The Software does not write to the BIOS and cannot undo anything you change there.
- - Graphics card clock, voltage and fan settings. These are stored as profiles and can be reset by hand, but they are not part of the registry revert log.
- - DNS server settings. The Software can change the DNS servers on your network adapter and does not record the previous value. The app's "Windows Default" option returns you to the automatic (DHCP) setting; a DNS address you had entered by hand is not restored.
- - Global TCP settings (auto-tuning level, RSS, ECN). These are changed through netsh and their previous values are not recorded.
- - The configuration files of supported games and game platforms (launch options, autoexec.cfg and the like). A copy of each file as it was before the change is kept and can be restored from the relevant page; it is not part of the registry revert log.
- - The cards on the repair ("Fix") page. Each of them writes Windows' own default value back; the value you had at that moment is not recorded and does not enter the revert log. The page works that way so that it can also repair a machine changed by some other tool.
- - The individual values inside a power plan (the core-parking minimum, the processor's minimum/maximum frequency and the like). These can be written into Windows' own plans as well, and activating another plan does not bring them back. The repair page carries a separate card that returns those values to the default Windows itself declares.
- - Deleting a power plan and rebuilding the default plans. That is permanent and removes every custom plan, including ones you created; the app asks for your confirmation separately before doing it.
The existence of a revert feature is not a promise that your system can be returned to its former state in every circumstance. The backup and restore-point advice in clause 3 therefore applies despite it.
1.4 WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
The processing of personal data is governed in full by the Privacy Policy at https://w0a.app/privacy. In summary, what leaves your device is:
- - Licence validation (only if you have entered a licence key): your licence key, an identifier (HWID) derived from your device's hardware, the version of this agreement you accepted together with the time of acceptance and a digest of the text you were shown, and a random one-time number that protects the reply against replay. Validation runs when the app starts and repeats at regular intervals while it is open; when you close the app, a notice that the device is offline is sent. A hardware summary travels only when you activate a key on the Settings page or press re-check there yourself, not with the checks at start-up or in the background; our server stores it only at the key's first activation and keeps none of the later ones. The summary contains your operating system and version, whether it is 32- or 64-bit, the manufacturer/model name of the computer, processor, logical core count, motherboard, BIOS version, graphics card, memory modules and total memory, screen resolution, time since boot, computer name and local network IP address.
- - Live revocation connection (again only if you have entered a licence key): while the app is open a connection to our server is held open, so that a cancelled key takes effect at once. Your licence key and hardware identifier travel in the request headers on that connection, not in the address line.
- - Device release and free trial (only when you ask for them): releasing your key's device binding sends the key and hardware identifier so the binding can be cleared; claiming the free trial sends the hardware identifier and the one-time code the Discord bot gave you.
- - Recorded by our server itself: the IP address you connect from, the country derived from it, and when your licence was last seen.
- - Problem report (only if you press send): your text, any contact detail you left, the app version, your Windows version, your processor and graphics card model, the last lines of the error log, and — if you have one — your licence key and hardware identifier. When you send from the Settings page, attaching the log is your choice via a tick box; if you answer yes to the question shown after a crash, the log is attached in every case. User-folder paths, your Windows username and anything shaped like a licence key inside the text are removed before sending. Your licence key is not written into the report file; our server stores only a digest of it and shows it masked on the operator console. The only reason the key travels with the report is so that the hourly allowance can be counted per licence rather than per IP address — without that, an attacker holding many addresses could fill the channel and keep genuine reports out.
- - Error diagnostics (only if you have entered a licence key and the "Send error diagnostics" option on the Settings page is on): the lines the app writes into its own error log, the app version, your licence key and your hardware identifier. Before the lines are sent, user-folder paths, your Windows username and anything shaped like a licence key are removed; nothing you have typed, no list of your file names and no document content is sent. Our server does not store your licence key or hardware identifier in the clear — only digests of them; the reason the hardware digest is kept at all is so that we can count how many DISTINCT devices are hitting the same fault. Sending happens two minutes after the app starts and every six hours thereafter, and we may also ask for it while investigating a widespread problem. Its purpose is single: to see how many devices a given fault reaches, and to fix the software. It is not used for marketing, is not sold to third parties, and is deleted after 90 days. Turning the option off stops the sending completely; the rest of the app works exactly as before.
- - Update and changelog checks: these are read requests; none of your data is attached. As with every HTTP request, the server on the other end sees your IP address.
Beyond this the Software sends nothing in the background. If you choose to install the optional driver described in clause 6, its installer is downloaded from that driver developer's own distribution address; you start that download, and as with any download the server on the other end sees your IP address. The app's "Privacy (streamer) mode" hides the key, HWID and IP on screen and sends the local IP masked; it does not reduce what else is collected.
1.5 REMOTE DISABLING OF FEATURES
If we find that a feature is causing harm on particular hardware, we can switch that feature off through the update file rather than waiting to publish a new build. The switch works in one direction only: it cannot change how any feature behaves and cannot enable anything new. If our server has never been reached and your device holds no list from an earlier run, nothing is disabled at all. A list once received is, however, stored on your device and keeps holding while you are offline; the way to turn a feature back on is for your device to receive the list again without it. A feature switched off this way is marked as such inside the app. We will say what was switched off and why as soon as we reasonably can. If a paid feature is disabled this way, the loss is more than minor and it is not put right, you may end this agreement free of charge and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period, as the full User Agreement sets out; your rights under consumer law are reserved in every case.
2. AGE
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Software. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the knowledge and consent of your parent or legal guardian, who accepts this agreement together with you, and any purchase must be made by them — our merchant of record sells only to adults. Because the Software runs with administrator rights this matters doubly: if the computer is not yours (a family PC, for example), do not use it without its administrator's approval.
We collect no data from anyone we know to be under 16. If we notice such data has been processed, we delete it and cancel the licence concerned, refunding the unused period. The box you tick to continue also carries your declaration that you meet the age terms in this clause; the Software does not ask for your date of birth and cannot verify it, so that declaration is what we rely on.
3. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Modifying system-level settings inherently carries risk. Every computer's hardware, drivers and configuration are different. An optimisation that improves performance on one system may cause unexpected behaviour on another. For that reason we recommend backing up important data and creating a system restore point.
When it applies an optimisation set, the Software tries to create a restore point itself before it starts, without asking. On some other pages it offers to create one for you. That offer does not appear before every operation, and creation can fail if Windows System Protection is switched off — in which case the Software tells you it failed. Taking your own backup remains your responsibility.
4. WARRANTY
The Software is provided "as is". No specific performance gain, FPS figure or particular outcome is promised; any gain depends on your system's existing configuration and may be nil. Nor is it warranted that the Software will run uninterrupted or error-free.
This clause does not remove the statutory rights the consumer law of your country of residence gives you in respect of defective goods and services. If the Software does not perform the core functions described, you retain the remedies the law provides (in Türkiye: free repair, price reduction, or cancellation of the contract; in other countries, the equivalent rights).
5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, loss of data, business interruption, damage arising from acting against the Software's warnings, or the behaviour of third-party software, drivers, hardware or services.
Where we are liable, and to the extent the law permits, our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the licence giving rise to the claim — or, on term plans, the amounts paid in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim — including amounts paid through Paddle, our merchant of record.
These limitations do not cover, and do not affect, liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Liability arising from our intent or gross negligence, liability for death or personal injury, and your rights under mandatory consumer law are reserved.
6. ANTI-CHEAT AND GAME SERVICES
The Software does not inject code into game processes, does not read game memory and runs no code of its own at kernel level. The only things it does to a running game process are what Windows' own Task Manager can do — set its priority and the cores it may run on, through documented Windows interfaces, and only when you turn those engines on. It has no driver of its own; only to read CPU temperature and memory timings may a signed driver from an independent developer (PawnIO) be installed, optionally and with your approval. That driver only reads, is a third party's product subject to its own licence terms, and its installer is downloaded from the developer's official distribution address.
When you ask it to, the Software can edit the launch options and configuration files of supported games. Those files belong to the game or the game platform and are subject to their own terms of use; a copy of each file as it was before the change is kept (see 1.3).
However, how third-party anti-cheat or game providers assess this Software is entirely at their discretion and outside our control. We can give no assurance on this point. If a game, a game platform or an anti-cheat provider suspends, bans or restricts your account, we are not liable for the loss of that account, its contents or the time on it — liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded remain reserved.
7. LICENCE AND PAYMENTS
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Software on your own device. Some features require a valid licence key; on an installation without one, the free features keep working. Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record: for the transaction Paddle is the seller of record, issues the invoice and takes the payment, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to it; this agreement governs your licence to use the Software. From time to time we also offer a free trial of the paid features, for the period shown when you claim it; it is claimed from inside the Software with a Discord account, the trial key stays bound to the device that claimed it and, nothing having been paid for it, gives rise to no refund.
Licence keys are personal and bind to the device where they are first activated. To move a key to another computer, release the binding yourself on the bound device (Settings → License → "Unbind") and activate on the new one; at most 2 releases are allowed in any 30-day period. If the bound device can no longer be started, support can release the key for you. The "Lifetime" plan is a one-time payment; there is no subscription and no renewal. On term plans, turning automatic renewal on or off is entirely your choice, and your renewal price is not increased unless you agree to it. Sharing, selling or distributing licence keys may result in cancellation. Except where such restriction is prohibited by law, you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify the Software, or attempt to circumvent its licence checks; the open-source components inside the Software are governed by their own licences, listed under Settings → Third-Party Licences.
When you cancel a term plan, the effective date of the cancellation is the moment your access ends. If you set the cancellation to take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, you use that period to its end; if you set it to take effect immediately, access ends at once and the remaining days are not refunded. Which of the two applies is decided on the cancellation screen of the payment provider. Details and the refund conditions are at https://w0a.app/refund.
7.1 LICENCE VALIDATION AND INTERNET
Once you enter a licence key, your licence is validated against our server at regular intervals for as long as the app is open. On term plans, if our server cannot be reached for 72 hours without interruption, the paid pages lock — during a session as well as at start-up — while everything in the free tier keeps working; your key stays on the device, and the licensed features return once the connection is back. The "Lifetime" licence is outside this rule: it is recognised offline through the signed entitlement record stored on your device and is not switched off for being unable to reach the server. This is a feature of the Software that requires an internet connection, and the same rule applies when the connection is lost for a reason at your end.
Like all software, the Software has a life cycle, and its online services may one day end. If we have to discontinue the online validation service, we will announce it at least ninety days in advance inside the Software and on w0a.app. "Lifetime" installations activated up to that point keep working offline through the signed entitlement record on your device, although new activations, device transfers, updates and support are no longer available; on term plans the unused part of the period already paid for is refunded pro rata.
7.2 NO ABUSE OF THE SERVICE
You may not use the parts of the Software that reach our servers in a way that disrupts the service or prevents other users from benefiting from it. This includes in particular: sending automated, repeated or empty submissions through the problem-reporting feature; attempting to exceed the sending limits by duplicating the same request across many IP addresses, device identifiers or licence keys that are not yours; and modifying the Software or its network requests in order to bypass those limits.
The right to report a problem is limited to one submission per licence per hour. That limit is enforced technically, and attempting to exceed it is a breach of this clause. Our server records your report in a way that identifies which licence it came from; the reason is set out in clause 1.4.
7.3 CLAIMS BROUGHT AGAINST US BECAUSE OF YOUR BREACH
If you use the Software in breach of this agreement or for an unlawful purpose, or run it on a device you are not authorised to administer, and a third party brings a claim against us because of that, you agree to make good the direct loss that claim causes us. This obligation is limited to claims that arise from your own breach, and it does not affect the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
8. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
If we determine that a licence key has been shared or sold, that attempts are being made to circumvent licence checks, or that the anti-abuse rule in clause 7.2 has been breached, we may suspend or cancel that key. A suspension takes effect immediately; we then notify you without undue delay, with our reasons, at the contact address held for your purchase, and give you an opportunity to object — if your objection is upheld the key is restored. A suspended key also loses access to the problem-reporting feature. We act proportionately: a one-off or accidental overrun is answered by refusing the submission, and cancellation is reserved for persistent or automated abuse and for serious or repeated breaches; outside cases of deliberate breach or fraud, the unused period is refunded pro rata, and your rights under consumer law for the period already paid for are reserved in every case.
A licence lives with the payment that bought it. If a payment is refunded in full, reversed or charged back, the access it paid for ends with it, and while a payment dispute is open the key may be suspended; if the dispute then closes with the payment left with us, write to us and the key is restored. You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software and, if applicable, turning off renewal.
9. CHANGES
We may update this agreement, and we do so only for a valid reason — a change in the law, a change in the Software or in the services it relies on, or security. If we make a material change we will notify you inside the Software and ask for your acceptance again. Terms will not be changed to your detriment during a licence period already paid for, including the "Lifetime" licence. If you do not accept the new version you may keep using the Software; the version you accepted earlier continues to apply for that period, and the same question is not put to you at every launch.
Updating the Software is not the same as changing this agreement. Updates needed to keep the Software working, secure and in conformity with what was promised may be installed without asking you separately; such an update changes the Software only and does not alter the price, the licence period or any term of this agreement. Where a new version also carries a changed agreement, that change is presented to you separately and the paragraph above applies to it.
10. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
This agreement is governed by the law of the seller's country of establishment, Turkish law. That choice does not remove the protection given to you by the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in. If something goes wrong, please write to us first; most issues are resolved that way.
Consumers resident in Türkiye may apply to the consumer arbitration committees according to the applicable monetary thresholds; for disputes above the arbitration-committee threshold, mediation is a mandatory pre-condition to bringing court proceedings, after which the consumer courts may be seised. If you live in another country, your right to apply to your own country's consumer bodies and courts is reserved. Nothing in this agreement closes those routes or treats you as having waived them. If you are not acting as a consumer — that is, if you use the Software in the course of a business or profession — the courts and enforcement offices of the seller's registered seat are competent for disputes arising from this agreement; that sentence does not apply to consumers.
This agreement is presented in English and in Turkish. For consumers resident in Türkiye the Turkish text prevails; for all other users the English text prevails.
11. GENERAL PROVISIONS
If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force. A provision that is invalid because it is an unfair term simply ceases to apply and is not replaced; any other invalid provision is treated as replaced by the valid provision closest to its purpose.
Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by an event beyond its reasonable control — a natural disaster, war, a general strike, a nationwide network or electricity outage, or an outage at a hosting or payment provider. The affected obligations are suspended for as long as the event lasts. If it continues for more than 30 days, either party may end this agreement and the unused part of any period already paid for is refunded pro rata.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under this agreement to a successor if the business, or the part of it that provides the Software, is transferred; such a transfer does not reduce your rights and is notified to you. Our notices to you are given inside the Software or at the contact address held for your purchase. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
