Opening it
Press Win+R, paste this, press Enter:
%LocalAppData%\w0a\errors.log
If Windows asks what to open it with, choose Notepad. It is a plain text file.
If the file does not exist, nothing has gone wrong yet — it is created the first time something does.
What is in it
A timestamped line for every exception the application caught, with where it happened. Nothing is swallowed silently: if a hardware query failed, if a registry write was refused, if a page could not load, it is in here.
That is the point of it. An application that hides its own failures behind a friendly message is one you cannot diagnose.
What is not in it
- No file names of yours, no folder contents, no game list
- No licence key
- No personal information
The file stays on your disk. Its error lines are sent every six hours by the diagnostics switch, which is on by default and lives in Settings > Privacy — with paths, your username and licence-key patterns removed first, and nothing you have typed included. Turn that switch off and the file goes nowhere unless you send it yourself, in a problem report or after a crash the app asks you about.
Sending it
Do not paste the whole file if it is long. The last 120 lines are almost always the relevant ones, because the most recent entries are at the bottom.
